The SCMAGLEV Line is scheduled to open between Tokyo and Nagoya in 2030.
This is a project for a plaza in front of the SCMAGLEV station, which will serve as the Nagano Prefecture station for the SCMAGLEV. The concept of the plaza is to respect the history, nature, and culture of the Ina Valley in Shinshu, and to connect the landscape and lifestyles of the region. The plaza becomes an attractive space that takes advantage of the difference in elevation, with a landscape motif based on the “mizuhiki”, a traditional Iida craft known throughout the country and also a large wooden roof designed with a hint of the delicate Ajima umbrella.
