This state-of-the-art factory of Nakanishi Corporation was completed on a hill with a great view of a prefectural industrial park with excellent disaster prevention and complete infrastructure. Beautiful countryside spreads out below.
Native greenery has been preserved on the vast 5-hectare site, and a promenade lined with cherry blossom trees has also been developed. The production building, with a floor area of 12,000 m2, is arranged to flexibly accommodate future extensions, and the administration and welfare building is a separate building to maximize the efficiency of each building's structure and facilities.

The production building is equipped with high-level environmental sanitation and disaster prevention facilities to ensure that employees can work safely and comfortably. The administration and welfare building, which is connected to the south side of the production building, has a bright, glass-walled cafeteria facing a terrace with a view of the forest, a space for employees to refresh themselves, training rooms, offices, etc., all facing a long terrace space called a “portico” to soften the strong summer sunlight.

The columns that make up this “portico” have built-in LEDs, and at dusk the columns are lit, creating a “portico of light” that gives the impression of a museum or hotel. The facade design of the “Portico of Light” is based on the golden proportion, the ratio of the growth spiral of life. The spacing of the columns is determined by the rational construction of the building in conjunction with the arrangement of the rooms, and is subtly adjusted with reference to the score of Dvořák's symphony “From the New World,” expressing strength and beauty. The long façade of the “Portico of Light” is finished with high-precision stainless steel plates, and its design is a tribute to the quality and beauty of Nakanishi products, which are the best in the world.
